Leyadoll Partnered with Local Calgarian Business, Art Cafe, to Host the Tea Party of the Season

When opening up our first office in North America, we had one mission: to connect with those who brought our dolls to life. And on Saturday April 11, we made that happen.

In the middle of March, two of our team members — Marisa and Kaylie — suggested that we partner with Art Cafe to host a family-friendly tea party that both parents and their little ones would enjoy.

The result? Spectacular.

But before we tell you about it, let's turn our attention towards the business that welcomed us into their space: Art Cafe.

Despite having opened their doors in 2025, Art Cafe has quickly become one of Calgary's most beloved coffee shops. Known for their beautifully crafted beverages and pastries, being the perfect place to slow down and welcome creativity — but what truly sets them apart is the family-friendly atmosphere they've cultivated.

Their warm colours, laptop-free zones, and natural lighting create a space where cafe goers can truly relax and take a moment for themselves.

Another beautiful part of their space is the children's area — on the right side of the cafe, they've placed different child-friendly playsets for little ones to engage with, giving families the chance to enjoy something they love while their children have fun too.

As a frequent cafe goer, this is such a unique feature. Art Cafe has given families the opportunity to do something they enjoy while their children can have fun too. And because of this, we knew we had to collaborate with them.

Knowing that this was our first in-person event, our team felt both nervous and excited. We prepped for three weeks — and when Saturday finally came, it completely blew us away!

At 8am, our team arrived to start setting up. Knowing that we had invited families for a tea party, we wanted to create a space that felt springy, airy, and beautiful.

Around 9:30am, families from all over started to attend: regulars at Art Cafe, walk-ins, and some of our current customers.

For each family that attended, we welcomed them to Art Cafe, introduced them to our company, and offered them either a free Princess Breeze or Daisy Girl doll.

It was so beautiful to see the faces of each child that received one of our dolls. Each little one looked so happy and was excited to go and play with their new best friend.

After the child received their doll, parents were invited to enjoy some free coffee and handmade macaroons.

Throughout the event, our team was amazed by the atmosphere. Families were chatting and enjoying a moment together, while their little ones were having fun, playing with their dolls and our cute Little Teapot Play Sets.

Another unexpected moment was the feedback we received from the attendees. We had families who brought some of their favourite Leyadoll products (i.e. our Berry Special Day Montessori Soft Book) just to tell us how much they loved them!

We also had families share how grateful they were that we hosted an event like this.

Comments like this mean so much to us. As an e-commerce company, one of our favourite things to do is read your reviews on our website. Hearing the stories about how our dolls brought a smile to someone's face, just makes us so happy.

So having had the opportunity to hear these stories in-person was truly an experience we'll never forget.

Now that we have an office in Calgary, Alberta, we'll be able to host more events like this to give families the chance to have a fun little outing and to meet the faces behind the dolls.
