One of the main reasons our team loves writing blogs is that we get to share our story with you. As many of you know, our company was founded in China back in 2018. In December of 2025, one of our co-founders decided to take a risk and open our first North American office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

This move was scary.

But let me tell you, it was worth it.

Over the last 10 months, we’ve worked hard to build meaningful connections with those around us. From hosting joint events with local businesses to supporting families in need, we've dedicated ourselves to bringing people together and making a positive difference in the communities we serve.

While there’s still so much we wish to accomplish, every experience along the way has taught us something valuable, preparing us for what would become our biggest month yet: October.

This month marked an exciting milestone in our journey here in Canada, as we took part in three incredible events: My First Haircut with beaners fun cuts, Bump, Babe, and Beyond expo in Regina, and City & Baby expo in Lethbridge.

After months of hard work and preparation, seeing everything come together was incredibly rewarding. Throughout these events, we had the opportunity to meet many wonderful families, hear their stories, and experience firsthand the impact our dolls have had on their lives. These moments reminded us why we opened our North American office in the first place.

With so many wonderful memories to look back on, we wanted to take the opportunity to share these experiences with you. That's why we've decided to dedicate a blog to each of these events, celebrating the moments and people who made them so special.

And what better place to begin than Regina?

So, without further ado, here’s the story of our experience at Regina’s Bump, Babe, and Beyond expo. We hope you enjoy it!

Early Friday, October 2, Marisa, one of our employees at the office in Calgary, Alberta, headed off to the airport to embark on this new journey.

With two suitcases and an oversized cardboard box, she checked into her flight, headed to her gate, and boarded her flight to Regina, Saskatchewan.

Although she had been to Saskatchewan before as a child, this would be her first time returning in over 15 years.

When the plane had landed, she was immediately taken by how kind the people were and the beauty of the landscape around her. Although she had known that Saskatchewan was famous for its big open skies and golden fields, the views she had laid her eyes on exceeded her expectations.

Once she settled in, she immediately made her way to the: Conexus Art Centre. This centre hosts a wide range of entertainment related activities, expos being one of them.

The organizers of the expo we were attending, Bump, Babe, and Beyond, were kind enough to allow vendors to set up a day early. Therefore, Marisa arrived shortly after 4pm to start setting up.

When she walked in, she noticed just how friendly and purpose driven the organizers and the vendors were. Bump, Babe, and Beyond was different from other expos. In addition to offering booths where families can purchase goods and services, the organizers also held different activities throughout the day to educate, connect, and inspire families during this new phase of their lives. It was because of this, that there was this supportive and encouraging aura to the space.

It was beautiful.

After locating her booth, Marisa began to set-up the space. Not only was this the first expo Leyadoll has been to, it was also the first expo Marisa had set-up. Because of this, there were many wonderful learning opportunities that presented themselves, such as; how many banners will we need in the future, how to set-up this space to encourage connection with attendees, and even how to set-up the space in general!

Marisa felt ready, returned back to her hotel, and got lots of rest for the big day.

On October 3, the organizers of Bump, Babe, and Beyond asked vendors to be set-up and ready for 8:45am. Marisa got there early, placed all of our products on our booth, got some coffee, and began the final countdown before attendees began visiting each booth!

Families began circling right at 9am. The group of people who attended this expo warmed our hearts. From expecting and new mothers, to their partners, close family members, and friends, each family that Marisa had the pleasure of meeting was surrounded by a community of loved ones.

One of our team’s most pleasant surprises was how many people took interest in our dolls and told us that they had seen us online.

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget what it was like to see our Leyadolls for the first time. For Marisa, she remembers entering our office and seeing all the dolls on our table. Each one was different from the next and told a story of its own. The fabric was incredibly soft and the dolly’s faces were so chubby and cute.

It was so nice to see the attendees have similar experiences. The minute people came to our booth, people quickly asked if they could pick up one of our dolls. You could see it in their eyes, this doll is too cute not to share with others.

Families continuously asked us to tell them more about our company and that they thought their little ones would love our dolls. For those who did welcome a Leyadoll into their lives, the faces of their little ones were priceless! They were so excited to receive a new best friend. Others were so excited to give our dolls to their loved ones, expressing that they had found the most beautiful and intentional gift.

And to be honest with you… this is what makes our job worthwhile.

Although the expo ended at 3pm that day, its impact is still with us today. Seeing just how a plush dolly can bring such joy and happiness to a person, reminded all of us here at Leyadoll, that it is possible to inspire positive change in other people’s lives.

Our experience at Bump, Babe, and Beyond was definitely one for the books. This experience gave our team the confidence we needed to embark on the rest of our scheduled events.

We can’t wait for our event with beaners fun cuts and the City & Baby expo in Lethbridge, and look forward to sharing all of those details with you.

Until Next Time,
Marisa from the team at Leyadoll
