Every 3 minutes...
A baby is born with a cleft. These babies have difficulties eating, breathing, hearing, speaking, and even smiling.
Why Smile Train?
We were inspired to help change this. So we reached out to Smile Train, an international charity organization dedicated to helping children with cleft lips and palates.
Changing the World One Smile at a Time
Smile Train is the largest cleft-focused organization with a model of true sustainability — providing training, funding, and resources to empower local medical professionals in 70+ countries to provide 100%-free cleft surgery and other forms of essential cleft care in their own communities.
By 2007, they had already provided free treatment to 380,000 children with cleft lip and palate in 76 countries.
HOW WE GIVE
We promise to donate 1% of every purchase you make. When you make a purchase at Leyadoll, you are not just buying smiles for your kids, but ALSO creating smiles for children who long for ones. Your donation will be ensured that it goes to a cleft child.
WHAT WE GIVE
Your portion of the donation will be used to support Smile Train to complete the following to help cleft children.
In as little as 45 minutes, a skilled partner surgeon can perform a cleft surgery and change a child’s life forever.
Even after surgery, many children with clefts will need speech therapy to address language delay, articulation problems, and hypernasality.
Dental And Orthodontics
Missing, small, extra, and crooked teeth are common in cleft patients even after surgery to repair their cleft. Dental services are vital for the full rehabilitation of cleft patients.
Children born with clefts often have difficulties feeding because of their inability to create a closure to suckle. Mothers and caregivers often need support to learn how to feed and support the growth of their baby.
Children born with clefts may have visible scars and/or differences in speech that can lead them to feeling different and, in some cases, experience self-esteem issues. Counseling and support are essential throughout their development for the children and their families.
WHERE WE GIVE
Your donations will be used to support Smile Train to provide 100% - free cleft surgeries to children in more than 70 countries around the world including Brasil, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Americas, Philippines, US.
Every smile matters, and we know that it's our mission to bring smiles to every kid. Let's make smiling accessible. Will you join us? : )
